TechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonFallStructureRock PileWater temps have dropped to the low 70s and muddy on the main river. If you can find a mudline with clean water coming in from a slough that’s the juice. We found one such spot that had a nice flat with a rock pile that had fish grouped up. We put more than 40 fish in the boat off of one small area. We started with moving baits and cleaned up dragging a Tokyo rigged rage bug and a senko style bait.

TechniqueSwim JigsSeasonFallStructureLaydownsFocused on lay downs on flats off the main channel. Had to have moderate current and bait close by. Fish still seemed scattered a bit and not really grouped up but areas reloaded. We would get one or two in an area and then let his rest for awhile and then repeat.

TechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSummerStructureMatted GrassFish are starting to group up chasing bigger Shad. Best areas had good current and a hard edge that fish could push bait up against, either eel grass edges or sand drops. Most of my better fish came on various swim jigs in Shad patterns with a white Menace for a trailer. Also caught some on a white Jackhammer and a fluke. If you get a bite repeat that same cast multiple times. I caught 8-10 fish off of one stick on the edge of a eelgrass mat.
