Water was pretty clean and clear, a bit of wind and chop when we hit the water at 5:00. Weeds are absolutely THICK. In 15' of water the weeds were breaking the surface. Air temp was sitting around 85 and water temp was hovering between 76 and 79 wherever we went during the evening. We got into fish pretty quick and picked up our initial limit by 6:30. We only managed to cull up 1lb with 3 other fish as the evening went on though. All but one of the fish I caught were on 110SR, and the one other was on a frog. In retrospect, we should have come back to the area we started catching fish in a LOT earlier. The jerkbait fish hit on a long pause every single time, but you could see the bass following the bait all the way up the boat. Top weight was a ~15lb bag with a 4 1/4lb kicker that got big bass as well. We pulled out with 9.6lbs and no money.

Tournament started at 5:30pm, water temp was 75° and the wind was sitting right around 5mph. Water clarity was about 2-3 feet. Bluebird sky's and barely a cloud. We started off frogging and picked up our first keeper pretty quickly that ended up being big bass for the night as well. We were targeting shallow pads and watching for swirls/moving pads/pops/etc. Caught some more dinks, but ultimately decided to move on. We hit the banks for a bit and managed to catch another keeper for the night right off a dock/pontoon near a drop off on a wacky worm. Fishing slow got boring so I started ripping a lipless through the submerged vegetation pretty much as fast as I could reel and put two more keepers in the boat back to back. Co-angler lost a pretty big one on a drop shot, but boated one that was on the line to fill our bag. We hit that bank for a bit longer and caught some dinks but nothing to cull out the small one. Pulled up and went to the other side of the lake and initially tried to fish the banks but got no love. Went into 3-5' of water and managed to get on some more dinks and culled up a couple oz's with some slow moving baits. We decided to pull to the outside of the weedline and started ripping the rat-l-trap again and managed to catch some more dinks, but finally culled out the smallest bass shortly before we headed back to the launch. Tournament Results- 1st - 10.8lbs 2nd - 9.83lbs - us 3rd - 8.84lbs Big Bass - 3.01lbs - us
