TechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationCrowded with pleasure boats, but there are fish to catch. The water is SUPER CLEAR, and 80+ degrees. Topwater may have been good, but I didn't get on the water until 11:00 am. Finesse fishing like a drop shot or senko will produce. The pleasure boats and wind created mudlines that made a spinnerbait produce some bites.

TechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonFallStructureFlooded BrushWent out to San Vicente for an afternoon trip. Overall the bite was tough. My better quality fish came on a hard jerkbait around the grass and flooded brush. Smaller fish came on a drop shot using the glitch worm. Using 10lb test on the jerkbait was key. There was shallow tiny bait in some of the small pockets. I imagine in the morning there’s schooling fish, but there was a fair amount of wind this afternoon so that pushed the schooling fish sun surface.

Largemouth Bass
TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonFallStructureBrush PilesThe bite at San Vicente is not easy right now. The fall transition is well underway, and the largemouth are busting the surface on shad in many areas of the lake. Those fish are NOT easy to catch. The bait is very small, and you'll need to get very creative to get those fish to bite an artificial lure. There are fish shallow, mid depth, suspended, and deep right now. This past weekend fish were mainly caught on a drop shot, and a carolina rig. Make sure to cast in multiple depth ranges.
