Started off with top water in the morning. River 2 sea popper and megabass pop max. Then moved to Berkley stunna and a green pumpkin football jig with a Yamamoto flappin hog on the back. Up river they were busting on the surface chasing bait. Caught them every other cast cycling through baits. Slow drop off banks with wood and alittle bit of rock was the ticket. Steep banks had fish but the big ones were around almost do nothing banks with wood and small rock. Grass helped but it wasn’t a necessity. Towards the damn we found fish flipping outside of the new tullies infront of the old ones that were submerged with a wacky rig. More area oriented than spot oriented. Found a couple schools of fish up river but by the dam they were more spread apart.

Shad spawn was going off , bass keying in on small minnow profiles. My youngest daughter was the hot stick.

Fish were positioned just outside of main lake points. All fish caught were strictly eating shad or fry as none had red lips from craw crunching. Also spoke to a boater who was strictly flipping with a craw bait and ended up getting skunked that day. I fished 10 hours and was averaging a fish an hour. Also caught a large 14 oz bluegill that ate the 2.8 Keitech as well as a 1 lb 3 oz crappie on the 2.8 Keitech also. I also modified the Keitechs by adding a chartreuse tail with the Spike It marker to mimic the bluegill after seeing a couple with bright tails. Perfect match!!
