Smallmouth Bass
TechniqueNed RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureBouldersNumerous bass were on beds up shallow. Watched this guy chase off carp school after carp school from his bed. Casted to the bed from about 50 feet away (water was pretty clear, needed the distance) and watched him come over an eat the bait. Plenty of aggressive bass with some skittish and sluggish bass. Spawn in full swing!

TechniqueVertical Jigging Deep (20'+)SeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureBaitfishPerch are schooled up and fairly sluggish. Deeper water seems to be a bit more productive (40+ fow) so larger 3/4 to 1 oz jigs coupled with light braid and a fluorocarbon leader are necessary. Work jigs on the bottom slow to imitate bugs and small minnows. Natural colors have produced best.
