Summary

What you need to know about fishing Shasta Lake Squaw Creek Arm

Lake Shasta is the largest man-made reservoir in California with roughly 30,000 acres and 370 miles of shoreline. It sits just north of Redding and has easy access via Interstate 5. Because of its tremendous depths, both warm and cold-water game fish are present. It consists of four major arms: the Sacramento River, Pit River, Squaw Creek, and the McCloud River. Trout are some of the most sought-after fish with over 30,000 lbs. of rainbow trout stocked every year and brown trout having a self-sustaining environment, many of which can be found in the McCloud River Arm. Plugs and Spoons are popular lure choices among anglers fishing for these species. Bass anglers often use soft plastic worms, swimbaits, and crankbaits for catching the large number of spots that can be found throughout out the lake. Max Depth: 518 ft
