The water here is shallow and if you were to stand out in the middle of the lake you would only be up to your waist from the looks of it. Lots of species here but if you are going for bass you should stick to and follow the bank. Cast near the matted grass on top of the water and structure. Since the water is so shallow you can see ripples in the water where the bass are swimming. On the beach side casting towards the middle of the lake where the grass floats will get you some bass as well. The bait of choice here is weightless texas rigged soft plastics. Senkos work the best for me in Black, Green Pumpkin, and Watermelon. Using the 3" senko on a finesse setup will catch you anything. Use a 1/0 hook for the 3" and a 3/0 or 4/0 for the 5". I ended up catching 5 bass with a new personal best. The personal best was 3.8 lbs!

Lots of bluegill around and the bass were jumping everywhere. The water is very shallow and clear so you can see a lot of the structure in the water where the bass like to hang out. I started out with Texas Rigged 3" Fat Senkos in Black and Green Pumpkin casting out to those areas with the structure and letting it sink. If I didn't get a bite on the initial fall down I would reel in the senko until it was above the next area of structure and let it sink again. Spot fishing was also very good so if I saw a fish jump out of the water I would cast to it and usually it would bite. I also tried Wacky Rigged 4" Senkos which caught me the most fish. I ended up with 7 bass in about 2.5 hours.

Lots of matted grass at Wharton Brook this time and it made its way from the edges to the middle. It was perfect because you know exactly where the bass are so working your way along the bank all you have to do is cast as close as you can to the grass edges. What worked best for me was the hit worm in green pumpkin and if there were bluegill in the area I was fishing I would switch over to the Fat Senko so they couldn't steal the tail. Both the hit worm and the senko I fished weightless as the water depth at Wharton is only 3-5 feet at most. Only caught dinks but there were a lot of them. In 2 hours I ended up with 7 fish.
