We used live minnows and tried jigs but it was too calm and the power house wasn’t generating. We caught several good ones and my wife caught her PB at 16 1/2” (didn’t have a good scale so we just measured it). Tru-turn hooks claim to have a better hook up ratio I haven’t seen that but I have seen that it comes out of cover easier and a beat up red hook definitely gets more bits than standard gold. I pair it with 16 lb test mono when fishing in heavy cover for the occasional snag. The larger line allows you to bend the hook out versus breaking it off.
