Early season cold fronts seem to have pushed the mega schools of females into staging areas outside of main spawning flats. Follow old creek beds looking for depressions and weed openings. Once you find them, stay on them as there will be schools of 15+ fish around. Yo-Yo'ing a 1/2 oz Jackhammer through the grass will get bites.
