  • Species

    Largemouth Bass

  • Season

    Summer

  • Technique

    Frogs/Toads

  • Structure

    Reeds

The bite on Leech this summer for largies continues to be up and down with the changing weather fronts. Cattails or flat reeds flipped with jigs and tx rigs were consistent producers. Reeds can produce quality fish, but it takes time to fish them to figure out the patches that are holding groups of fish, same with the wild rice. In the rice, both flipping and covering water with hollow body frogs are strong options. Finding a mixture of grass and presences of perch, crawfish or other bait-fish is a strong indicator of key areas.
