Hot day on the lake bass were pushed up near brush piles. Used crush city freeloader on 3/8oz vmc minnow shaker head and yoyo near brush piles and got some reaction strikes. Bass have now moved toward ledges during the day light hours and moved near brush and grass during evenings. Swimbaits and jigs were the baits for the day.

Targeted main-lake flats and ledges using an Alabama rig to locate active fish. Followed up with a shaky head and Texas-rigged soft plastic to pick off bass holding tight to the bottom that would not commit to the moving bait. Most bites came from fish relating to deeper structure and showing little willingness to chase. Slow presentations near bottom contact produced the most consistent results.

Targeted grass lines early using minnow-style baits on a hover/mid-stroll presentation. Ended with 19.5 lbs, anchored by a 4.96 lb largemouth. Fish were relating to the outside edge of the grass and actively feeding on baitfish. Minnow and UNI-style plastics produced most of the bites, with one quality fish coming on a Berkley Dime.

Great place to fish. With the water level over summer pool and temps in the 80s the topwater bite was on today. Did some flipping and pitching near some buck brush and throwing berkley swamp lord popper frog around brush caused big explosions during the evening.

Water was stained to muddy and averaged 78-80 degrees. Found most fish in shallow pockets with shad. Full moon and clear skies all night before made daylight fishing tough. Weightless Fluke fished in a cold water pattern with fairly long pauses between mild twitches drew the most strikes. They did not react to an aggressive or fast action that you would normally use in hot summer conditions. Topwater was not working -- they wanted something sub-surface.

Had an awesome day on the water. Caught a lot in the 3 to 5 lb range. The sun was high and sucked the fish to main lake standing timber.

I fished Carr late in the evening and was getting tons of bites on a wacky rig senko but couldn’t convert. I switched over to a weightless Texas rig throwing into some thicker wooded areas and was able to land several fish.
