Spinning reel, with a reel and stop movement. Before sunset, the shad was feeding on bugs on the water surface, so the largemouth was taking advantage by smashing the surface.

Was cranking the bank line with a crank bait in the brightest color I had on me at the time. The water was chocolate milk and nasty. This did the job. Only caught a few, but it was fun. Unfortunately, he choked it down and hard a hard time getting the hook out.

Found them grouped up in deeper grass in about 10-15 feet of water. Using scope to target single fish was definitely the key.

Slower than slow. A little current will definitely help. Search for ledges in 13-17ft.

Not much happening. This one one of two that I caught today. Still lots of vegetation around the edges where they are feeding on bluegill. Still quite hot but the temps are going down in the evening. Water is still low. Hoping for more rain soon to bring back water levels.

Fishing edge of large matted grass beds in the early morning. Once the sun was up the fish bite was done. Fish hit the under-spin minnow as soon as it hit the water. First fish was with the frog. Went 200 ft and changed to under-spin and never changed back. Caught 10 fish most 1.5 lbs to 3 lbs. Grassbed was matted and edge Was 3-5 ft deep with hydrilla almost to the surface on outside edge. Lots of bream popping in matted grass.

Bite for me is getting tough. I feel like most of the offshore schools are in transition to their fall locations. Water temperatures have dropped considerably. What I did catch were on transition area docks or bass that were on bait balls in creeks.

I was able to sneak out the other day for a few hours with a friend on Chick. The fish are a little bit of everywhere right now. We caught them anywhere from the bank to 45 ft. We ended up catching 10 bass with the biggest being a 6-3. A couple came off of a single lay down on a flat, but most of them came off of shell bars when they finally turned the current on. Luckily we were able to find a spot within a spot in 35-45 FOW before the current and were able to trick a couple. One of those being the 6-3. Instead of targeting the ones you could see suspended that weren't that active, we were letting our minnows hit the bottom, and then hovering them slightly above the bottom on our retrieve back. This was calling a few up from the bottom, and when one would bite, 6 more would come with it. They are tricky to get to bite for sure, but the ones you can't see are more likely to bite right now

Was fishing one of the new Buckeye G-Man Buzzbait in 3/8oz with Storm Horny Toad frog in black. Caught 7 total, 6 smallmouth and one largemouth and lost another largemouth. None were big but the largemouth was just under 2lbs. Was a fun few hours on the water in the morning.

Fishing is tough right now, all bass caught out of brush piles in 14-23ft. Key is to have bait present and wind blown pockets help.

Ended up putting 56 inches in the kayak. For boaters that’s a 5 lbs, and 2 x 4lbs bass. The drop shot on grass edges was key. Grass line started at 12 ft

Threw towards the bank and reeled towards the boat. Caught a couple good ones hanging out under the trees.
