I just fished an event out here and had a brutal practice, but figured them out late in the tournament. The water on Marion is still pretty muddy, but don’t shy away from it. I had all of my luck in super muddy water with a double Colorado bladed spinner. I fished it around isolated cypress trees in 3.5-5ft of water. The key to good trees was a hard bottom - which was usually sand or shell. I had to fish a lot of trees to get fish, but the quality was there. I moved further away from the bank than I initially intended, and that paid off on the last day of the event. The spinnerbait bite was good as long as the sun was away… as soon as it came out you were better off throwing a neko rig or a shakey head around the bases. When fishing these trees, make sure you’re throwing well past them and bringing your bait along side them. Throwing right at the base of the tree will produce less bites.

After Hurricane Helene, it took awhile for the rivers that flow into reservoirs like Lake Robinson to clear. Still stained, but the natural Shad and Sexy Shad colors of the Chick Magnet show pretty well and caught most fish off of gradual points and near docks.

I went out on the river and crushed the largemouth. Fish are starting to get into heavy groups in ditches/creek mouths. Fish can also be found in the thick hydrilla. I recommend using your livescope/active target to pinpoint the fish in the creek mouths. It is cold but the bass fishing is EXCELLLENT!!!

Dad and I crushed them on a jerkbait in brush and ditches. If you utilize your electronics you can find fish everywhere. The fish at that time were spend out in groups but when we found them we would catch 2 or 3. I recommend using side-scan to find holes or brush followed by livescoping with a jerkbait. Good luck!!!

My partner and I had a great tournament finishing in the top 10 with a shakey head and jig. We tried everything but those two baits were the only thing they wanted to eat. Watered is a tuff lake because there are little bass but heavy baitfish. I recommend fishing rock piles and points. Those two pieces of structure were key for our success.

The fish are very spread one and stuck on bait. The fishery is very hard at the moment and you have to find baitfish to find bass. The fishery is loaded with crappie however and the brush piles are full of them. I recommend finding brush piles or rock on deep points.

My partner and I caught fish on deep trees but a lot of smaller ones. Bigger ones were spread out and hard to find. If you fish Marion I recommend fishing the river or swamp. The trees are deep and next to deep water.
