Went from a slow topwater frog bite to a full on weightless texas rigged day. Mostly aimed for the outsides and open pockets of lily pads, along with some submerged hydrillas/waterthymes. Worked it at a moderate speed, no need to burn the lure. Twitched and dragged the lure till I felt the “thump”, then set the hook. Biggest of the day was an 16 1/2 incher. Total caught on texas rigged was 6, and 1 on a topwater Scum Frog Bigfoot. Good luck, and have fun on the water!!!

I finished 5th in the IKFC tournament. It was an absolute grind of an event with a lot of pressure from other fishers and pleasure boaters. The top water bite turned in as the sun came over the horizon. It only lasted about an hour or so. I caught my key fish on a frog over the submerged grass close to rock piles. I did manage one on a bone Sexy Dawg in open water in the back of a pocket.

It was hot, humid and no wind. Water clarity was also terrible (inches, not feet). They have spent a lot of work manually removing weeds from the lake and it's basically barren. There is no grass to work with at all. The only structure in the lake at this point is the downed tree's, seawalls, and docks. It was really hard for us to find quality fish, the good tree's got picked up by the first boats to launch pretty quickly and sat on for the evening. All our fish were basically hugging the seawalls. None of our keepers were more than a few feet from them. Every keeper was on a wacky worm as well. We ended up with 7.5lbs w/ BB of 1.55lbs. Big bass of the night was - 4.6lbs Bags were; 19.10lbs 14.85lbs 12.45lbs

It was hot, there was a bit of wind but mostly nothing. The lake fished like a very typical late June Gull Lake. We hit some pretty early on Jerkbaits and grabbed one small keeper. We consistently caught small fish all night long and picked up a squeaker every now and then to fill out the bag. Most of our keepers were on Neds, with one buzzer beater on the popmax at the end. We ended up with 7.85lbs, with a big of 2.05 Big bass for the night was 3.55lbs Bags were; 12.05lbs 11.75lbs 11.65lbs

Weather was warm the week prior and the water was high, maybe letting the weds grow higher in some spots, which threw us off a little from previous trips on this lake. The boys kept trying different spots. We tried reeds, only found 12-14 in bass.We found that flooded docks near a bridge with the jigs held the bigger bass- 15-17 inch.

We've had lots of rain lately, so the pond was a bit higher than usual and fairly clear considering. I was trying out my new Shimano Complex XR on a medium light rod, jerking along the fluke and reeling quickly. The bass responded pretty aggressively! I'll be sizing down 1/0 hooks going forward.
