In early August the river was fishing pretty wide open, you can find frog fish in the slop, largies & smalies on wingdams & sand drops. Also cut banks and wood cover were producing key fish as well. Bone colored walking and popping baits were very good around sand drops and current points. Dark colored frogs very effective around duck weed. Natural colored creature baits flipped around wood banks were good for key fish as well. Current was key for all these situations.
