Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSummerStructurePointsFished a small Adirondack lake during the week of August 20 through 25. Caught dozens of largemouth and smallmouth bass up to 3.5lbs. We caught a few bass via topwaters, but our best fish bit Texas-rigged Zoom Ultra-vibe Speed Craws in green pumpkin. We evn caught a few bonus yellow perch, including one pushing 1.5lbs.

Smallmouth BassTechniqueNeko RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureBouldersFished a small lake in the Adirondacks (canoes and kayaks only) in Essex County and found post-spawn smallmouth on rock piles. I caught fish on a lightly weighted Neko rigged Zoom Trick Worm in watermelon/red. The bite was slower than the previous day, necessitating a subtle approach. But, once I found the right rocks, I caught them consistently.

Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureBouldersFished a small lake in the Adirondacks (canoes and kayaks only) in Essex County and found post-spawn largemouth and smallmouth on rock piles, sparse grass, and laydowns. I caught fish on weightless Yum Dingers in Elder's Magic, as well as Texas-rigged Zoom Ultra-Vibe Speed Craws in green pumpkin. The Yum Dinger bites resulted in fish between 1 and 2 pounds, but the Speed Craws attracted fish up to 3.5 pounds. While a standard green pumpkin Speed Craw caught fish, bigger fish bit once I colored the craws red with a Spike-It marker. The fish simply could not resist that splash of red.
