Largemouth BassTechniqueSpinnerbaitsSeasonFallStructureSubmerged VegetationIt was a slow bite early on. Topwater presentation yielded nothing. Combed the flats with a spinnerbait and lipless crankbait in the early afternoon hrs and finally managed a few while burning it across the tops of submerged vegetation. The best one coming in at 3.75 lbs.

Fished for around 3.5 hours starting at sunrise. Managed to catch two bass along the same part of a ledge. They hit towards the shallower side/transition area of the ledge. My kayak was positioned over the deep end and I was casting into the shallow portion.

It was a great day to be fishing but a tough day to be catching on assunpink lake today. Grinded out 2 keepers including this 3.85 pounder on a PBJ colored strike king jig off a shoreline break. The fall feed hasn't hit its stride just yet but hopefully will pick up soon.

Fished for a few hours this morning and it was tougher than last time. Four bass and only one was a little over 3lb the rest might not have even been 12in. They were all near lily pads still though. This time it seemed like they were mainly patrolling the edges and I actually caught most of them casting away from the lily pads instead of parallel to the edge. I guess the lily pads are a good alternative to deep water to hide from the summer heat.

Caught 6 bass around the 2.5lb-3.5lb range. Most were at the outside edge of lily pads along the opposite side as the boat launch in pretty shallow water. Sometimes it was less than 2 ft deep I could anchor myself by sticking my kayak paddle into the ground. I did catch two, including the biggest fish of the day, along the deep edge of drop offs using a green pumpkin neko rig. Water clarity is super low, at most 1 ft, so I would’ve stuck with using black and blue for neko rigging too if I had those colors.

Fished from a kayak for 6 hours starting around 6am. Overcast day with no rain, water clarity was between 1-2 ft. Was a great day fishing caught 6 bass, smallest was 9in, largest (pic) was 18in, and average was just shy of 15in. Bass were everywhere, I caught one by the boat launch pier before jumping in my kayak. 3 were caught in shallow submerged weeds to the north side (my guess that they were in weeds since some retrieves would snag on weeds). 2 were caught at deep ledges in the middle and the west side. I used the ned rig for every bass except one, because I snagged and broke it off. Last bass was caught on a drop shot.
