Largemouth BassTechniqueSpinnerbaitsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationMost of the fish were still prespawn. I caught 3 bass on a spinnerbait but my buddy caught 9 on a Northland firetiger Mimic Minnow with a spinner blade. They really liked that lure. Most of the bass we caught were in 4 to 6 feet of water

Largemouth BassTechniqueSpinnerbaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationFound the bass in 3 to 5 feet of water. The chartreuse spinnerbait with a yellow Mr Twister double cury tail trailer worked good.

Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationThe bass were hitting wacky rigged Green Pumpkin Senkos off the outside edge of the weed line and off docks.

Largemouth BassTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationI caught 10 largemouth bass and a fat northern pike today at several places on the lake. I fished drop-offs, lily pads, reeds, and underwater points. The drop shot worked well. Just cast it out and slowly work it back to the boat. I caught some on wacky rigged Senkos too.

Largemouth BassTechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureReedsI found some Largemouth holding tight to the bank, mostly around the reeds. Fish were eating the small swim jig package well in 1-3' ft of water. I would imagine they will be making beds soon but all the fish I caught were prespawn. In the afternoon the water, in the shallows, warmed up to mid-60's.

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureReedsAt first I tied on a black and blue chatterbait from Kastking but I do recommend a Zman jackhammer. What I did was cast out and immediately start to slow reel it in. If bass see it or feel they will chase and come and eat it, you will feel your line getting heavy is so and you know it’s a fish, hookset. If chatterbait bite gets slow I just have a 3# size ewg hook and a 5 1/2 inch fluke from Zoom. Just cast as far as possible and jig or drag it on the floor or on top of those weeds. Look at your line and keep it tight. Once you feel or see your line moving something got and hookset.
