Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonFallStructureBaitfishWhat a day of fishing. The main bite came on a white and chartreuse ZMan Chatterbait EVO (blue and black worked as well). However, the fish were hungry and biting several different presentations like the Crush City The Mayor on an under-spin rig. Not quite a full fall pattern yet as the weather has remained warm but they are heading that direction. We pounded the banks for the most part and caught many in very shallow water. (Note: this lake is now a private property and permission must be obtained before fishing on this body of water. Making this report more for myself for potential future trips as I know the owner)

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationWhat a day in Oklahoma. A strong cold front went through the night before and fired off huge thunderstorms. Temps dropped drastically. It was in the low 50 degree range with 18mph winds, bluebird skies, and rising barometric pressure around 31 when we got on the water around 9:30am. We tried several presentations but finally landed on the ZMan Jack Hammer Chatterbait in black/blue color. The bites were few and far between. I personally only caught three fish but one was in the 3lb range you can see in the pic above. Letting the bait drop then reeling a few turns then stopping and letting it drop again (repeat) was the key presentation for me. The fish were not aggressively taking the bait but I could feel the chatter stop and the rod load up. I was a bit surprised to catch any with the conditions. (*Note this is a private lake)
