Largemouth BassTechniqueSoft JerkbaitsSeasonSummerStructureLily PadsThe transition begins; days get cooler and nights even colder, the fall season starts to encroach upon us. Thats when I go and use tons of shad type baits. I choose a fluke this outting for its ease and simplicity. Pair with a EWG 3/0 hook and it works charms. I worked it but jerking the rod tip in intervals, which allows the bait to flutter and “zoom” (because I used zoom flukes lol) around in the water. Usually after a relax fall, there would be a thump. After that, the fight is on. I targeted areas that was slightly off the pads, around 15-20 yards. Bass would still be in pads, so it was a good decision. Some bass in the pads, and some bass cruising the weedline to fatten up on baitfish.

Panfish / BluegillTechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureLily PadsEasy place for children and adults to get right into fishing. The lake offers you a launch and some walk-way to the left. I would highly recommend new anglers to do a traditional bobber, split shot, and a hook paired with some red worms. If you’re squimish, I would recommend Gulp! products. Its an easy and time tested technique that will surely land you some fish for fun, or if you’re craving some fish. I targeted panfish on this outting using a dropshot outfit. Take a break from some bass, walleyes, and pike or muskie and go back to your roots!!! Good luck and have fun!!!

Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSummerStructureMatted GrassWent from a slow topwater frog bite to a full on weightless texas rigged day. Mostly aimed for the outsides and open pockets of lily pads, along with some submerged hydrillas/waterthymes. Worked it at a moderate speed, no need to burn the lure. Twitched and dragged the lure till I felt the “thump”, then set the hook. Biggest of the day was an 16 1/2 incher. Total caught on texas rigged was 6, and 1 on a topwater Scum Frog Bigfoot. Good luck, and have fun on the water!!!

Largemouth BassTechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSummerStructureLily PadsFished in either a slow crank, or popping it to create a frog-like motion. As with every topwater hollow body bait, hookset after 2-3 seconds.

Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSummerStructureStumpsThe setting was around 7:40pm, around that time people would start throwing topwater, but I chose to hit submerged logs and tree limbs near the shore. Water was about 4 feet deep. I threw out the texas rigged Zoom soft plastic lizard (one of my go to lures) and twitched it from bottom to the mid-column of the water. Let it “die” and the limbs would jiggle and ungulate which helps attract the fish. I continue working the area and got a good bump on the line and set the hook. I measured it to be a 16 inch fish and had a good fight. Good luck, and have fun!!!
