Got a little close to the bank and popped it off a rock and that’s when I felt the rod load up. Wasn’t necessarily targeting crappie but when it’s this big I can’t complain!

The bites were coming once you ripped the bait through the final edge of the grass. The bass were staged on the edge ready to ambush baitfish coming through the grass toward the main lake.

Running bladed jig over some coontail in the shallows just outside the cove next to the dam just before sunset, caught many bass here in this cove and around the dam, this happened to be the largest of them for me
