I recently got out in my kayak which is perfect for frog fishing in the pads as you can get really shallow and spook less fish. There are a lot of small bass in this lake but a few nice ones. I didn't find anything over 2.5# but I can never be too picky when they are eating the Frog.

Outing was for 6/4/2025. Weather was warm and calm with clouds slowly coming in. Water was around 70, but can't recall looking at it. First Wednesday Greenhorn Tournament of the season started out with a bang! Got 2nd place with a very small bag, on a very tough to catch large fish lake. Caught quite a few fish under 12 inches, and then once we had our limit had lots of small upgrades to get the couple skinny 13 inchers out of our 5 fish limit. In the end finished with 8.54lbs for the night. The winner had 9.09 and big bass by a wide margin of 4.78lbs. Our big bass was only 2.01lbs by comparison. Overall we shallow junk fished all night, some dock fish, some frog fish, some random fish between docks.

Fishing north and main lake saddle in 9-10 fow in submergent milfoil along with cabbage weeds. Main focus is to flip as much grass as possible and wait a few seconds upon bite before setting hook with the Tokyo Rig.

Had 11 pounds out here and did most of my damage around docks and also was fishing gill beds. I caught one four-pounder that helped a ton and was able to take fourth place. Fish were very tough to catch due to the clear water and tough conditions.

Punching weed beds 8’-14’ , natural colors work best on this lake. Weeds are the best place to find bass on this lake and swim jigs are your friend, especially if you want to cover water faster than rocking a wacky rig.

Lighter finesse tackle was producing largemouth bass bites on Big Marine. Spinning rod rigged up with 15# braid to 8#floro leader tied to a ned jig hooked with Zman TRD plastic. Cast up closer to the docks and shoreline and wait. Slow roll it back to the boat to get a swim effect with some pauses to mimic a foraging bait fish.
