TechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureMatted GrassOuting was for 6/4/2025. Weather was warm and calm with clouds slowly coming in. Water was around 70, but can't recall looking at it. First Wednesday Greenhorn Tournament of the season started out with a bang! Got 2nd place with a very small bag, on a very tough to catch large fish lake. Caught quite a few fish under 12 inches, and then once we had our limit had lots of small upgrades to get the couple skinny 13 inchers out of our 5 fish limit. In the end finished with 8.54lbs for the night. The winner had 9.09 and big bass by a wide margin of 4.78lbs. Our big bass was only 2.01lbs by comparison. Overall we shallow junk fished all night, some dock fish, some frog fish, some random fish between docks.

TechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureLily PadsThe Frog bite is heating up on the post-spawn largies! I recently got out in my kayak which is perfect for frog fishing in the pads as you can get really shallow and spook less fish. There are a lot of small bass in this lake but a few nice ones. I didn't find anything over 2.5# but I can never be too picky when they are eating the Frog.

TechniqueGrass JigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureDocksHad 11 pounds out here and did most of my damage around docks and also was fishing gill beds. I caught one four-pounder that helped a ton and was able to take fourth place. Fish were very tough to catch due to the clear water and tough conditions.
