The first big cold front of the fall can thru last night and the air temps went fro the 60’s to the mid 30’s. Targeted laydowns in 3-5 feet of water with a jig. In between laydowns I would cover water with a bladed jig. My biggest fish came doing that, I nice 5-10 that had the head of a 6+ pounder but was skinny. Had a pretty good day with my best 5 over 20 pounds.

Had a very good bite this morning pitching to laydowns in 5-8 feet of water. The best spots were where the creek channel swung close to shore. Water temps started out about 60 degrees this morning and clarity was slightly stained. Later in the morning when the wind picked up I caught several nice fish slow rolling a 1/2 ounce double Colorado spinnerbait in a coleslaw pattern along laydowns and isolated stumps.

Most of my fish came winding a modified Thundercricket with a Bojangles baits Z-Daddy fit a trailer. As I was going along if I saw a laydown or brush pile with my FFS I would flip a home made arky style jig with a Z-Daddy on it to those. That one two punch worked well thought the day.
