Largemouth BassTechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonFallStructureRip RapI was finding that if you were able to get your boat as parallel to the rocks as you possibly could you could definitely get 4 or 5 more fish out of the day. Also I listed this in the fall but it’s more of a late summer bite, when the days start dipping into the 70’s.

Largemouth BassTechniqueStructure JigsSeasonSummerStructureDocksReally tough day of fishing, but managed to pull off the win in the I-Bass series tournament on BlackHawk. Fish were very lazy because of the brutal summer heat but we pulled though caught them good early in the morning on a shallow crank and then once the sun came up switched over to a skipping jig, Texas rig, and Tokyo rig and just grinded on docks the rest of the day.
Species
Largemouth BassTechniqueFinesse JigsSeasonSummerStructureLaydowns8/12/22 water temp 82 Fished wood and docks in 2 to 3 ft of water. Used 3/8 oz. all terrain jigs with zoom speed craw in black/blue and big bite baits crawtube in green pumpkin using a 3/0 ewg hook and 3/8 oz. weight.
Species
Largemouth BassTechniqueNed RigsSeasonSummerStructureRock PileFished during post-frontal conditions. Water level close to full crest and highly stained from recent rains. Could not locate fish under docks, which is unusual for patterning summer bass on this waterbody. Was able to find fish relating to (1) shallow rock piles/gravel transition in less than 3’, and (2) deep sea bed/rock piles in 6-8’. Marked fish along dredge cuts as well. Dragging a ned rig with intermittent hopping cadence was the most successful presentation.

Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureDocksIt was a very toasty day out on the water that’s for sure, (90 +) and the water temps were like 89.8 so extremely hot water too. Not a deep lake at all and they really can’t go deep so the only true way to catch them is flipping docks. You can catch em on a bever and craws too but i found that flipping a ZMan Bang Stickz picked up a lot of bites. The water is absolutely chocolate milk so i was using black blue laminate. I was flipping a 1/4 WOO Tungsten NEVERCHIP around with a 4/0 VMC HD Ringed EWG. I was flipping with 30 lb suffix 832 braid to a 20 lb Suffix Advanced Fluorocarbon leader. The 1/4 oz was key because the docks are in 2 ft of water, you could even go lighter if you wanted. Caught like 14-15 lbs in a couple hours just picking them apart, tried a jig but they wouldn’t commit.

Largemouth BassTechniqueSpinnerbaitsSeasonWinterStructureLaydownsVery odd winter...was able to sneak out on a unusual warm winter day. A mid 60 degree day with a strong south wind. Was fishing some of the bank that had a medium amount of wind on it. Didn't want it still but didn't want it getting slammed. Nothing to this bite but slow rolling a spinnerbait .

Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureDocksHad a tournament on this body of water and thought docks was the way to go, I was wrong but ended up catching 31.38 lbs for a two day event here to get me second and lose by a pound and a quarter and get second. Really like to catch them on a Jig here but I couldn’t get it going, my last resort was skipping a wacky rig around to get bites. I was catching dinks to 3 and a halves so I didn’t switch. MaxScent works for sure! Skipped a different brand around in the morning until I broke it off, re-tied and put a general on. Skipped the three docks I just skipped too before I broke off and caught a 3.02, 2.76, and a 2.20 and basically glued it in my hand the rest the tournament.
