Black River and Black Mingo are starting to get back to normal. Levels have come down roughly 2 feet over the last 10 days. Most of the bass are now focused in eddy water and ditch mouths. Use prop or plopping baits to draw surface strikes. Lots of bass weren’t willing to commit so trying a floating worm is another great choice until things stabilize and the bite picks back up.

With all of the rain, the river has risen roughly 3.5 feet in the last 10 days so fishing has gotten tough. Water is out in the swamp flats and running fast. Try to get as far back into the edges of the flats as possible. Cast into the grass and any eddy water you can find for the best opportunity. Bites are hard to come by but some good fish are still there to be caught. If the rains will calm down a bit, the river should level off and bring the bite back.
