I was searching for roaming bait chasing fish. I ended up catching and releasing this BIG and beautiful 22 1/4" trout and I also caught a channel catfish too. It was a great day on the water!

Came out to the lake to work on using livescope that I got mounted on the kayak. Found stripers, largemouth and smallmouth cruising the channel of the lake suspended. I was able to catch a few fish on the hair jig one was a 3.75 pound smallmouth and 21 pound Striper throwing hair jig in front of them.

The bass are starting to key in on crawfish right now. Finding rock or rip rap and dragging a jig around has been really effective. The lake has been lowered for the winter however so the water does look a lot different and you need to be careful of shoals when running around.

The bass were hitting on ned rigs a few weeks ago. I recently went out to Blue Marsh and threw a Z-Man ned rig at the bank and caught a total of 24 bass. All these bass were between 7" - 18". I noticed that the bass were mainly staged around the laydowns and weedbeds going down the Spring Creek arm in the No-Wake zone.

I was casting out and letting it keep bottom contact. I had the bait roughly 1.5ft off the bottom. I would give tiny shakes with long pauses. Thid produced about 6 largemouth and one smallmouth in a few hours.
