Water was over 10 feet high. Fish are in brush piles on the original shoreline. Shad color swim jigs pulled through the piles were the most productive bait. Spinnerbaits worked while it was cloudy and raining.

There was a shad spawn going on almost everywhere in the mornings. The bigger largemouth wanted the popper in a white color. I tried a few other colors and lures such as the super spook jr, but the popper in a white color caught the bigger largemouth. After the early morning shad spawn action calmed down, a wake bait worked well to still pick up some keepers, but mostly smallmouths. Something about that popper that the large green ones were loving for those four days I was on the water.
