Wish I had a picture of the 5+ pounder that got away....but I got her close enough before she escaped to know it would have been my biggest of the year...so far. (Clear Lake is on the near horizon for me....) Also had a nice top water blow up on the Vega Frog from 6th Sense. Love that Frogville pattern.

The delta has finally turned around after the large amount of winter/ spring rain! Temperatures have been HOTT so the top water bite has been game on.

Summer is here and the vegetation is growing. During high tide there was submerged vegetation and the river2sea whopper plopper was the best bait for the occasion.

Found a submerged tree about 10” and basically did a power drop shot with heavier gear because the delta you gotta bring your big guns out haha.

Had a good day on the CA Delta. Found lots of fish under matted vegetation and they were biting the punch rig. Found fish in mats that had between 3-5 ft of water underneath them. I had to use a 1.5oz punch weight to get through the mats and get the fish to bite. I used a 3/0 flipping hook along with a Missle Baits D bomb to get my bites. Caught between 10-15 fish, but nothing bigger than 1.5-2 lbs. Overall a very solid day for numbers and fun fishing.
