The weather in Illinois has not been stable. We had a warm stretch where the crappies started to move up to spawn but then it cooled off and they backed off. This bruiser was caught in 7' of water on a downed tree using an ACC Crappie Stix 6'6" 2 Piece Dock Shooter.

Mark Balbinot competed in our Connect Fishing League March Bass Tournament and took home 2nd place in our Best 5 competition and also won Big Bass with a 6.97 LBS Bass. Mark said "Over the course of the tournament weather varied from clear blue skies to cloudy skies with a slight drizzle. Also the wind seemed to blow every time I had a chance to go fishing. Water temps were from the low to mid 40's with stained conditions. Most fish were caught on a 3/8 oz Strike King Black/Blue rattle jig with various plastics trailers. Also caught some on a double willow spinnerbait and weightless black/blue Wave Worm. All were caught from fishing from the boat except the biggest one which was caught from the bank."
