TechniqueNed RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureBoulders6/1/22 - After a great tournament last weekend I came back out to try to catch some of the giants I saw that hadn't moved up yet, but quickly shifted gears to smallmouth due to high winds and high water from a storm the night before. The smallmouth were chewing. Isolated boulders amongst standing timber was the key. Every large boulder seemed to have multiple fish on them and beds all over.

TechniqueNed RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureStumps5/28/22 - The first Glacial Lakes Extreme Trail tournament did not disappoint...its safe to say Cattail Kettle is HOT!!! 4 bags north of 24 lbs were weighed in, 2 of which went for 25 lbs and some change. The biggest bags were smallmouth, but we chased the spawning largemouth. Unfortunately for us the big girls still hadn't moved up, but we were 100% successful for the bedded bass we saw thanks to a ned rig equipped with a TRD CrawZ. We caught a lot of bass, our biggest being a 4.30 spawner on bed.

TechniqueStructure JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureStumpsWhat an amazing day. Took a couple hours of wading through pike to find the largemouth, but when I did it was incredible. I caught my South Dakota PB... a 7 pound monster on bed along with some other quality bass. Can't wait to come back!

TechniqueHard Body SwimbaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureBouldersCaught big smallmouth on glide baits. They were very aggressive on the bigger profile. If it was a smaller swimbait or jerkbait they would not commit, but if it was big or micro they would.

Largemouth Bass
TechniqueNed RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureStanding TimberVery finicky bite. The largemouth were just start to make beds. They would not eat a normal 4 inch plastic so we down sized to neds and were 100% successful for every fish we saw sight fishing.
