The Smallies were loaded everywhere and were on the move. covering water and working the jerkbait fast and erratically was the key! Get those jerkbaits down a deep as you can! The GLXS Spawn Cherry and Baby Kingyo colors worked the best!

TechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureRip RapTourney Day with Colorado Kayak Bassmasters. Caught 4 and ended up in 11th out of 42. Got each one on a different bait. Wacky rig, dropshot, ned rig, and jerkbait. Jerkbait was a little deeper. Key was to stay far away from the early spawners and finding gravel instead of larger rock.

TechniqueFinesse JigsSeasonSummerStructureDamWater level is still high and fish are holding on current brakes along the Dam .Sides scan or us your 2D to look for a 2 to 3 foot drop . Great place to take kids to catch lots of smallmouth or a bonus Walleye or 2 . Make long cast with a gentle drag or popping your bait . I use the 1/16 oz football jig head from VMC and the XZone Ned zone in 3in summer craw. Good luck , have fun and be safe on the water.
