Bigger fish seemed very finicky here this summer. Slow dragging a c-rig, baited with a excessively flappy bait, through submerged stumps and timber in 18-20 fow, with a 1/2-3/4oz weight seemed to get the good bites. Lift the rod slowly to get the weight off bottom, the keep the rod tip up until you feel the weight hit bottom. Bite always came while the bait was gliding back down behind the weight.
