TechniqueFootball JigsSeasonSummerStructureRock PileAlthough there was an abundance of baitfish in the lake, the bass were still feeding on craws. Most of the bass I caught that day had intenas sticking out of their throats! The key that day was just to let the jig crawl over every rock slowly and they were picking it up!

TechniqueDrop ShotSeasonSummerStructureBouldersFishing was slow for us in 100+ degree days. Got a few every day but had to work hard for them. Only fished a few hours each morning. Started with topwater and crankbaits with only a couple, after that it was all dropshot. Had to run mid lake to find decent clean water.

TechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureReedsWater Temp: 73-75 Water Clarity: Limited (2-4foot visibility) Report: Tournament prep, launched 5:00, off water by 2:30. Wind was 1-3mph with gusts of 5mph. Caught 15 fish. Fish were concentrated on weed edges. Stayed in the main lake didn’t fish around rattlesnake or redbud area. Many strikes were shallow 1-4ft. Majority of fish were on 5” Yamamoto Senko, watermelon with any type of red flake(wacky). 2 top water bites very early on whopper plopper. Tips: Fluttering the senko on a wacky rig in submerged grass openings and rocky points. Plopper off points and open channels between submerged grass. Gear: Shimano Vanford spinning reel, 8lb floro Sunline Sniper leader, Dobyns Fury 703SF, Berkley Fusion wacky hooks. Shimano SLX/DC casting reel, 12lb Sunline Super Sniper floro, 8’ Dobyns Champion XP heavy/fast. River2sea 110 whopper plopper.

TechniqueNeko RigsSeasonSummerStructureRock PileWhat a difference a week makes, still hot but they were chewing! Was getting 15-20 every morning and evening with many over 4# including 3 pushing 6#. Neko rig was the main player but got some cranking. Used that Mustad Alpha hook again with great success.
