Tried top water with no success. Ended up getting them spinnerbaits, cranks and senkos. Biggest 4.6#, 8-10 bites a day. Stayed do we n south but think the north end would have been better.

Got up for the weekend to The Cabin on Clearlake to enjoy a little time away, visits with family and friends, and of course a little time to throw at the water. A few others from our small community were getting their lines wet also. I did a lil fishing off of our pier and only fished the two adjacent piers but managed to pick up a nice one at 4.69#. Made me happy, probably my heaviest fish along this stretch for me this year, as its been a bit tough along here and there truly isn't much for structure besides the dock pilings. Not a very big fish but really well fed. Though my neighbor "Texas Rigged Mark" was getting a few on the neon green tailed worm as always, it was the Jerkbait once again that got it done for me. Its been my go to along here this year. The bell rang once on the nightcrawler setup for Catfish but we missed that one. Oh well. All in all it was a lot of fun for a few short hours on the beach with friends hanging out, tipping beers and tossing line off the community pier. Oh, how I love this lake.

3 days on Clear Lake. The bite is not wide open but is good early and late. Fished primarily north and some mid. All fish came on lipless. ALX Promise 73 and ALX Rumble. Rumble if you are in heavy cover. Promise 73 for open water. Mid lake we caught fish to 4lbs on rock. Also caught a 20+ catfish and another small catfish along with many broken off catfish. Vary your retrieve to find what they want. Focus on 1-6’ of water. All I will say is look for pinch points aka areas bass will move through or push bait into as well as points. If you don’t see bait don’t bother and move to the next spot. The bait is moving around from wind, conditions and the bass pushing it around. It’s generally everywhere but not in some places. The bass or heavier than normal right now and very aggressive. Had over 21 day 1, over 23 day 2 and 19.13 day 3 after 2 hours and decided to call it early rather than grind out another 4lber to break 20. I’d say you should expect to get 15-20lbs right now with a little work.

Big fish were smashing the Jack Hammer! Fish in the video is 6.25lbs. Best 5 went over 21lbs and 92.75 inches. I didn't have the right rod for the Jackhammer so I just ordered one here on Omnia!
