TechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSummerStructurePilingsActually fished both Saturday and Sunday. Super calm, bluebird sky on Saturday. "Perfect conditions"... I threw everything I had in the boat on Saturday and how a person can fish 10 hours on the "Best bass lake in the Country" and catch only one bass...well, it's just not the best bass lake in the country. For better news....On Sunday, I only had 4 hours to fish before I had to leave. I left everything else in the boat and just threw the trusty wacky rig at and around docks and tree overhangs. It was windy, with very large rolling waves all morning. So bad you couldn't stand unassisted by a chair. But it was a great four hours of fishing. The picture was the result of my last cast of the day, at the boat dock casting to a small shrub with some grass in about 12 inches of water that was literally 10 feet from the ramp. Sometimes, we can make bass fishing too complicated. If the going is rough...grab a Senko and catch some fish. I left the lake very unhappy on Saturday and had complete attitude adjustment on Sunday.

TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSummerStructureBouldersBig fish were smashing the Jack Hammer! Fish in the video is 6.25lbs. Best 5 went over 21lbs and 92.75 inches. I didn't have the right rod for the Jackhammer so I just ordered one here on Omnia!

TechniqueLipless CrankbaitsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged Vegetation3 days on Clear Lake. The bite is not wide open but is good early and late. Fished primarily north and some mid. All fish came on lipless. ALX Promise 73 and ALX Rumble. Rumble if you are in heavy cover. Promise 73 for open water. Mid lake we caught fish to 4lbs on rock. Also caught a 20+ catfish and another small catfish along with many broken off catfish. Vary your retrieve to find what they want. Focus on 1-6’ of water. All I will say is look for pinch points aka areas bass will move through or push bait into as well as points. If you don’t see bait don’t bother and move to the next spot. The bait is moving around from wind, conditions and the bass pushing it around. It’s generally everywhere but not in some places. The bass or heavier than normal right now and very aggressive. Had over 21 day 1, over 23 day 2 and 19.13 day 3 after 2 hours and decided to call it early rather than grind out another 4lber to break 20. I’d say you should expect to get 15-20lbs right now with a little work.

TechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSummerStructureMatted GrassFished the BBT Saturday & Sunday could only manage 1 good bite a day. Ended up with18# day 1 and 15 1/2# day 2. Started the morning fishing rock piles with shakey heads and neko rig with the new Mustad Alpha hook I’ve been testing (works great!) Switched to the frog at 10am both mornings which produced the bigger bites.
