TechniqueLive Bait RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationMid - June is a great time to pull spinners along the wind blown shorelines, troll at .75 - 1.25 mph. get out away from the boat start with a 1/8 oz sinker. use your electronics to locate the fish, they are normally in 5' - 15' of water. Use a crawler or cut the back hook off and use a leach or minnow. The fish are normally feeding on minnows or bugs. when you feel the fish hit wait a second or two and set the hook, it will give them a chance to suck the bait into there mouth. I like to use a braid as my mainline but mono works just as good. Good Luck!

TechniqueVertical Jigging Deep (20'+)SeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureLedgesIf it is a late spring use your electronics to locate fish from the first break and deeper out to as deep as 30-35 feet of water, the fish will spawn and pull out to the deep water to rest. Use a short piece of mono about 5 ft long and tie it to your braid mainline. Tip your jig with a minnow and work it slowly on the bottom. Have Fun and Good Luck!

TechniqueSoft Body Swimbaits (Small/Medium)SeasonFallStructureRock PileThis was a multi species trip so we caught a fair amount of walleye, crappie, pike, and smallmouth bass. I enjoy keying into the smallmouth. Outside of live bait rigs, the keitech swimbait on a 1/4oz jig head did very well for smallmouth. Relatively slow retrieve with a series of twitches and pops off the rod. Beautiful area to get away and fish!

TechniqueVertical Jigging Deep (20'+)SeasonFallStructureHumpsUse your Electronics to locate mid lake rock pile humps with fish on them. Vertical Jig the Rapala Jigging Rap on and around the hump. Use a short snapping jig stroke. I like to use a snap swivel at the bait and tie a 5 foot piece of mono to the fireline but you can use a small swivel to connect the line also. Check the last few feet of line often for nicks in your line an knots. Good Luck!
