Shaking a minnow up shallow next to docks and structure. Smallmouth were pounding the 5" sakamata heavy weight. Make sure you have a few packs as the heavy weight are not extremely durable.

Throwing the 3.5" cover scat around rocks and boulders near transitions from weed beds. Caught several 2-3# smallmouth bass weightless on a 3/0 ewg. Also caught a bunch of large rock bass in the process. Cover scat has been the most consistent heavy bait I've tried so far.
