Today they wanted a little larger baitfish profile compared to a mooch minnow. Managed to get some nicer quality of fishing like this 3.5 lb largemouth.

Absolutely smashed em on SECRET COLOR NED. Fish would not touch any other color but would destroy the perch color Ned Zone. If you are fishing this lake buy a few packs of that color. We were actually sight fishing a couple hours of tournament day and watched fish turn from other colors and baits.

All fish were sitting in 10-15 feet of water on weed edges. Used active target to be efficient and stay on top of the schools.We also used nightcrawlers the whole time for bait on a dropshot.

Fishing has gotten a little difficult after the past few cold fronts that have come through. Did manage to get some decent bites using a 1/2 oz jig and chatterbait. Also caught quite a few pike and some other bass using some finesse techniques.

Covering the large pad/matted grass fields around the lake with a frog and following up with a 3/4 or 1 ounce punch rig seemed to get a few extra not wanting to commit fully to the frog. Ik

Fished Delavan this past weekend and the dog days of summer are officially here. Dragging a Carolina rig (3/4 oz) lead, brass or tungsten weight with a 12 inch mono or flurocarbon leader with a 5' Black and Blue Yamamoto senko. Seemed to get the Job done on 15 ft weed edges.
