Largemouth BassTechniqueCarolina RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructurePointsAround the first of middle of May, a great way to catch largemouth on Douglas is a Carolina rig. A green pumpkin lizard with the tail died chartreuse is my go to bait. Fish this around river rock points in the middle portion of the lake. I typically fish this with a 1/2oz or 3/4oz sinker about two feet above my bait. Fishing it slow along the bottom can provide great results!

Largemouth BassTechniqueHard JerkbaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureRiver ChannelsThrowing a jerk bait down transition banks that go from the river channel to a shallow, pea gravel flat or point is one of the best techniques to catch a lot of bass. The best part is you can catch largemouth and smallmouth as well here with this pattern.

Largemouth BassTechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonSummerStructureBouldersGetting as far up the river as you possibly can this time of year can pay off in a big way. There are bass up the river that can be caught while the majority of the other anglers are targeting the big schools out deep. Throwing a shallow crank bait or sometimes a topwater are the best techniques to use.
