Douglas is absolutely full of bass and even on this cold morning we were able to fire up some fish on the blue/black jig! This trip was a grind, but nothing else would put quality bites in the boat like the jig. There is not another reel like a Shimano Curado DC, on the jig bite you need a high speed reel to pick up the line. water temps still around high 40's low 50's. 1/2oz Berkley lipless warpig special red craw, or spring craw.casted around some submerged grass flats and rip rap. secondary points and back of pockets. Main lake points and secondary points had the best bites. Great bite with both colored Berkley warpigs.

Hard fishing with the water being about flood stage and with all the rain in the areas that come into Douglas. I think if they lower the lake back to summer pool the bass should start the biting again .

Around any laydowns or grass (either submerged or visible grass in the water). Also throwing a Spro Bronzeye Frog in the killer gill color around the same kind of vegetation.
