TechniqueNed RigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationLanded a Master Angler Redear Sunfish after trying multiple different lures. It finally attacked half of a 5” green pumpkin senko that was put on a ned rig head. It nibbled at the lure a few times but finally grabbed it and didn’t let go. It was on the edge of bluegill beds and a weed bed.

TechniqueFrogs/ToadsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureStanding TimberPost spawn bass are feeding very heavily on bluegill in shallow water around standing timber and weeds. Bluegill are feeding on insects on the surface and bass are chasing them. Topwater frogs are constantly getting strikes with short pauses. Again, at Duck Creek the larger fish are very difficult to find, but schools of smaller bass make this a very fun time to fish.

The fish are starting to come to shallow water in search of food. As the weather has been warming up they have been actively chasing moving baits. Squarebills have been getting reaction strikes and slow retrieved spinnerbaits have also been getting bites.

TechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonFallStructureSubmerged VegetationBass are in shallow to feed before the cold weather hits. Was able to find some small bass hanging out in submerged weeds waiting to ambush prey. All the bass close to shore seem to be smaller in size. They are hitting slow moving soft plastics like stick worms and creature baits.
