Got out on the lake on my faithful Hobie Outback. Upon launching my down rudder line broke. I made the best of it using my paddle. I spent the morning skipping docks as usual. Who doesn't like skipping docks right!? Initially I followed behind a boater but I quickly figured out he knew his stuff because I wasn't finding any fish left over. So I headed across the lake to one of my favorite docks to find it gone. The only things left were the boat lift and sailboat lift. I made a cast across the front of the boat lift and was rewarded with my first fish of the day. Also my biggest at 21". I caught 11 more bass until I left around noon. All skipping docks. If you haven't tried it I highly recommend it.

Hit the lake in the afternoon around 2 pm. I noticed most of the resident boats already gone from their docks and quite a few docks already removed from the water. Decided to try the chatter bite anyhow. Skipping and pitching docks and boat lifts. The bite was decent. I lost a few but that's fishing.

The lake was pretty busy today with many anglers targeting docks. I decided to fish for fish that were being mostly left alone and fish isolated weeds patches and piles of rock. There may still be fish on bed as several fish hit very shallow and aggressively throughout the day. Swim jigs and bladed jigs produced consistently throughout the lake. My 5 fish bag went just over 16lbs.
