Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationBass were making a new push up to beds mid lake with all the new water coming up. Caught a 6.37 on a bed inbetween some grass lines, bit immediately once the senko hit the bed. Rocky point split the creeks I was fishing in and worked around the point along the grass line. Creeks drop into about 10-15’. Saw several big bass on beds along the grass lines but couldn’t get them to bite at the time. Bass ranged from 8-10+ that were also there. Caught several male bass flipping along flooded grass and retaining walls.

Largemouth BassTechniqueStructure JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureDocksLake is 4" low, but find a fish and should be a few more in the area. Jigs and crank baits are a good match at this time. Water is a bit cloudy, but there is some clearer areas.

Largemouth BassTechniqueDeep Diving Crankbaits (13'+)SeasonSummerStructureRock PileYou can catch fish flipping docks but they were mostly small and larger bass were hard to come by. Caught bigger fish cranking in 15-20’ deep rock piles and rocky wind blown points. Bass were chasing shad while the wind was blowing. Once the wind stopped, the fishing died down until the sun came out and the bass pulled off the rocks a bit. Caught the biggest of the bass at 7.58 once the sun was high and hot.

Largemouth BassTechniqueFootball JigsSeasonSummerStructureRip RapFocus on rip rap areas where the rocks don’t extend super far into the water. The fish like to set up pretty shallow at the edges of the rip rap and will ambush everything up in the rocks!

Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Worming)SeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureRock PileWith water temps reaching the high 60’s most of the bass are in their full prespawn moods. I like to find water clarity around 1-2ft visibility. This will allow you to go look for beds while allowing you to get nice and close to the fish to cast at them. The bass like to spawn on the bank as well as under docks. when the water fluctuates a lot they will spawn off the bank on rocky flats and rock piles.

Largemouth BassTechniqueShakey HeadsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureRip RapBass were up in the rocks still after the cold front this last week. Just as the temps are getting around 65 and the fish start moving up to spawn, cold fronts have been keeping them from committing fully to bedding up. Used Shimano mastiff flouro 20 pound line to a 1/2oz VMC Swinging Rugby head wobble head jig with a cutrworm from strike king. Anything red has gotten bit the last few weeks. Bites were few and far between but still decent size fish up shallow.

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureRip RapFishing was slow but fish were up shallow on rock on most of the lake. Chatterbait bite was good. Caught a 9.34 on a jackhammer with 20 pound Shimano Mastiff. I forgot to turn the drag down and the line held up well running the bait through the rocks.
