I had better luck in dirtier water with moving baits, so I tried to keep my colors darker but still keeping it natural looking.

Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructureDocksOuting was Friday, May 2nd, weather was heavy clouds to clear at the end of the day. Temp was very cool and very windy. Highs in the mid 50s. Water temps were from about 53 to 57 at the warmest. This was also a practice day for a bass tournament that we were not conpeting in, so lots of boats on the lake. We tried to find the warmest water and caught a few small bass throughout the day. Unfortunately we weren't able to find a pattern and bites seemed random. Also tried to fish a bit deeper outside of spawning areas and had no luck. Bites were mostly had during the cloudy weather. Overall, it was a very tough fishing day.

Largemouth BassTechniqueLipless CrankbaitsSeasonSpring (Pre-Spawn)StructurePointsFound piles of aggressive largemouth staging on main lake points where the southern bays meet the main lake basin. Fish would push shallow (2-6’) up to dock edges in the morning, then slide out deeper (6-12’) later in the day. The key was to use lipless cranks with a loud rattle. Caught several pre-spawn females over 4lbs with the largest nearing 6lbs.
