CrappieTechniqueIce Fishing SpoonsSeasonIceStructureOpen Water/BasinUse your Electronics to locate the basin fish. I was using my Garmin Live to locate the fish but a flasher will work just as good. Look for soft bottom as the fish are eating bugs. Fish just above the fish and try a cat and mouse approach, by using the keep away, just keep pulling it up and make them follow. I like to use braid with a short piece of mono with a small swivel attaching them or by tying the braid to the mono. If you are fishing at night make sure to use a glow light to charge the jigs. Tip the middle treble with a waxy or a minnow head. Hold the spoon and always put the bait on the back side of the spoon in the middle.

Largemouth BassTechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureMatted GrassUse your side scan electronics or your polarized sunglasses to locate the beds on the shoreline. Cast over the beds and vary your retrieve and it will drive the bass crazy and hang on when they hit. Tie a 5 foot piece of mono to the braid. Have fun and good Luck!

Largemouth BassTechniqueNeko RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureReedsHad good luck dropping a wacky rigged 5" senko about 6"-12" inside the reed line edge. I used a couple quick jerks to keep the bait high until I crossed the reed edge, then let the bait fall skimming the tops of the weeds until about half way back to the boat. this method out produced every other tactic I worked that day.

Largemouth BassTechniqueTexas Rigs (Pitch/Flip)SeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationFirst Fat Belly Bassmasters tournament of the season today. Fishing was a little off with all of the rain recently. Caught the majority of fish flipping submerged vegetation in roughly 10' of water. Look for the pockets and flip the craw tube in there. Took 1st and big bass. Overall a decent day.

Largemouth BassTechniqueNed RigsSeasonSpring (Post-Spawn)StructureHumpsTough day. Lots of fish but ZERO quality. Curly Pond weed was thick but bass don’t use that garbage weed. I did get to try out the new Shimano Mastif 12lb and man is that line impressive. It lays nice on the spoon, ties great knots and casts like a dream and durable. I was throwing a DT8 and ripping it through some grass to trigger a couple of bites. I also tried out the new Mustad Alpha point finesse hook. Rigged up a 5” General on the 3/0 alpha and stuck a few with ease. The hook help up, the point stayed sharp, didn’t bend out and the plastic keeper help the plastic in place for multiple fish.

Largemouth BassTechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSummerStructureDocksThe weed are not to well grown yet so the deep docks have been the bast bet. Some fish were found on points but they were not as big as the ones found on the deep docks
