There were bass chasing schools of shad back in coves off main lake points. I was in 15-20’ foot of water casting to shallower water.

I was using electronics to graph fish in 20-35’ of water following the river channels. When I spot fish I’d hit spot lock and vertically drop the Zman graph Shadz on the fish. No need to jig aggressively, just hold dead stick with slight movements keeping it just above the fish.

Bluff walls are a great place to find fish in the winter. I caught fish dropping a blade bait down the sides of bluff walls. Let it flutter to the bottom and then jig it back up.
