First time fishing at Forest Lake. Water was stained and I wasn't sure where to start, so I used side scan to search for outside weedlines that lead to rocks or some other type of structure in 10-15' of water. Located patches of weeds in those depths surrounded by hard ground and old bluegill beds. Couldn't get a bite on fast moving baits so I began to drop shot a Yum Gr. Pumpkin 5" dinger and a Z-Man Finesse TRD work in orange/green pumpkin. Caught a 4.7lb largemouth with the drop shot casted into the pockets between the patches of weeds in a few casts. Started catching them frequently as I trolled the weedline looking for pockets. Drop shot is a must have setup when the bite is tough!

Points
Cruised around lake 3 in search of Walleye off the submerged points. Started marking fish between 14 and 17 feet before it dropped to the main basin. Got small bites but no hookups. Tore my gulp leech in half and got a decent pike and then a few crappies followed. Using crappie specific lures should be the ticket to find them, but would have to weed through the normal 8-10" metro crappies before getting a few nice ones.
