Flipping and pitching is the deal right now on Fort Loudoun! Target shallow cover—docks, laydowns, and isolated wood in the backs of pockets are holding fish. Bass are tight to cover in 1 to 4 feet of water. A Berkley Max Scent Stank Bug in Watermelon with the claws dyed with chart is getting it done. Focus on sunny days when fish are tucked in tight, and don’t be afraid to make repeated pitches to the same target.

Kind of an odd day but managed to put 12 in the boat with several lost fish and a pile of other bites in 4 hours. With the water being in the 60's and on the rise I expected a solid shallow water bank bite but it didn't pan out. Instead the fish were all on isolated structure 20-40' off the bank. I worked down the bank junk fishing and keeping an eye on scope, as soon as I saw a stick, stump, or boulder I'd flip a t rigged stick worm at it and have a bite. I did pick up a few running a dt 6 and jackhammer by them but they wanted they keyed in on the t rig much better. I went searching for big staging females out a little deeper and found them, but I could not get them to bite. Picked up a few smaller ones strolling a freeloader but it wasn't very productive.

Pulled off rip rap in about 4 feet of water.
