TechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonFallStructureShadFishing the Tennessee River on Ft. Loudon Lake near Knoxville, TN continues to be very productive for numbers but quality fish have been hard to come by over the past few weeks. With fast falling water temps the fish seem to be scattered but the most productive areas continue to be shallow cranking and top water near or around schools of bait. The major creeks seem to be the best but occasionally find them in shallow pockets with bait. The Berkeley Choppo has been the bait of choice followed up with the Frittside shallow crank bait. We have been averaging 20-30 fish a trip on most days running shallow water throughout the day focusing on schools of shad, bait. Follow us on facebook at East Tennessee Guide Service.

TechniqueSpinnerbaitsSeasonWinterStructurePointsWe are experiencing extremely warm temperatures for early November here in East Tennessee: We managed to get out for a 6 hr trip and had a great day, catching 40+ with 11 keepers. Several things lined up perfectly: the lake is dropping and had good current. With these conditions that positioned the bait and fish at easy targets around points and breaks. We caught on multiple baits, war eagle spinnerbaits slow rolled, little John crankbaits, and war eagle jigs. Boat poison and casting was critical in all techniques. #Omnia Fishing #East Tennessee Guide Service

TechniqueSpinnerbaitsSeasonFallStructureBrush PilesFind flats on the edges of the main channel that has grass. There is still grass and bass navigate to where there is grass left. Use a 6:8 reel and run the spinnerbait over the grass and let it fall when the grass ends. The bigger bass are on the bottom.

TechniqueShallow Diving Crankbaits (0-6')SeasonWinterStructureRip RapGot out in the kayak for a few hours in the Concord area. The fish were VERY tight lipped with the calm winds and bluebird skies. Managed to nab a few decent bass in the 2.5lb range cranking rock and gravel banks that were on the sunny side of the lake. If the crankbait wasn't dredging bottom, they wouldn't bite. I spotted many bass holding near bottom near bait schools unfortunately I never found any that were feeding. A little wind or cloud cover would have helped the bite all around.

TechniqueNeko RigsSeasonSummerStructureDocksWent out with the primary focus skipping docks with Neko rigs for bass, took my wife out with me to enjoy the fun. Most productive docks were with deep water very close or the ends of the docks were in 10ft of water or deeper. Also Docks that had floating docks attached to a hard structure were most productive. The most productive docks also had plenty of bluegill activity around them as well. Green Pumpkin color was the best, tried a few others just to see if it made a difference but Green Pumpkin in the Baton was by far the best. My wife was using a straight sinko to start and I changed the bait to the Baton and she had better action. In total caught 9, boated 8, the 9th came off while trying to swing in the boat. Best 5 were 10.14lbs with a 3.03lb Kicker. Was a good day on a very hot day as well.

TechniqueNeko RigsSeasonSummerStructureDocksStarted out the morning fishing some main lake points and dock, caught two Largemouth on the Shakey head with the Probe worm very early in the day. One was out deeper at the end of the dock and the other was close to the rocks at the front of the dock. Lost another fish in between throwing a swimjig. Moved into a usually productive cove up the lake a bit, saw lots of shad breaking and small bass chasing. Switched to Baton Worm rigged Neko style and started skipping under docks. One dock produced a 3.44lb and a 2.28lb largemouth. Another dock in the cove produced a 2.48lb largmouth. Another dock produced a 14in smallmouth. as well plus happen to catch one on a popping style bait when I was able to catch up to the bass chasing bait, that was about 13in long. My best 5 for the day were 81.25inches long for 11.19lbs. Boat traffic started to get heavier so made boat control tougher. Very happy for the day I had.
