TechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationDespite 25 mph winds, 94° heat, and whitecaps on the lake, the fish were still willing to bite! We had a board full of northerns, a few bass, and some crappie to show for it. We tried to target some walleyes, but for whatever reason, they just didn’t want to cooperate today—which is perfectly fine, because the rest of the action more than made up for it. We tested out all the new casting gear, and it performed flawlessly. The clients were very happy with both the equipment and the overall experience. We focused on transition areas, gravel bottoms, and some clay patches, and also spent some time working the weeds. Every spot gave us something different to think about, making it a truly interesting and dynamic day on the water. The group did a fantastic job out there, and I’m already looking forward to guiding them again. Hopefully, the lake continues to fish as well as it did today!

They caught some northern some Bass we’re just chucking swim jigs moving around covering a lot of water quickly all in all they had a great time and they’re excited to come back on another outdoor adventure which is all what it’s about family catching fish and good times.

TechniqueWacky RigsSeasonSpring (Spawn)StructureSubmerged VegetationStarted the morning fishing by the spillway. The bass were up shallow. Saw a big girl swimming by the rocks near the spillway and got her to bite on the wacky worm. Was able to catch another in the new growth of pads and submerged vegetation. The weather got very windy and the bite got tough. Moved to the NW side of the lake and caught a nice one by dragging a jig across a wind blown, rocky point coming off Devil's Island. I wasn't able to fish long because of the wind but the quality of bass was great.

TechniqueBladed JigsSeasonSummerStructureSubmerged VegetationThis client was in town from Texas and had never caught a pike. He went casting a bladed jig and caught more then he could handle, he had a great day and landed his first ever pike and then many more. As a bonus he didn’t get any cuts and can’t wait to chase Pike again. Please remember if you’re out on Fox it’s under a slow no wake ordinance.

TechniqueSwim JigsSeasonSummerStructureDocksWas fishing up shallow around docks and rocks in calm areas out of the wind early in the morning. Swimming a googan squad grass hero jig in their blue gill color with the crush city clean up craw as the trailer along the bottom I would hit a rock and pop it up and twitch my rod and get bit. I would cast parallel with the docks and slow roll it while twitching it to flare the skirt and catch a few.
